G'day Fellas

Inspired by the long-lost Ham'n'Egg Party of Fore (RIP), you'll be lucky to find any discussion of golf.

G'day Fellas

I have been MIA for a while.... work, winter, a short holiday, and a lack of golf have all combined to keep me away...

As above - I haven't played a lot in the past couple of months, and I am sure that when i head out on Saturday - it will show.

The Oz-fam just got back form a short trip to Perth in Western Australia. It is really a beautiful place - but such a long way from anywhere. We did some fun stuff with the kids - including a whale watching cruise that was pretty awesome.

Work has been kinda rough the past couple of months. Busy enough to keep me occupied, and I have been trying to work through the offer (?) of a partnership, which I officially declined just before the trip away. That was hard to do, especially as it was what I had orginally come here for, 6 years ago. I think it is the right decision for me and my family. We will probably now begin a search for an opportunity that suits us, and we'll entertain the idea of relocating the family - possibly north to Queensland. It will involve greater risk, but would be more inkeeping with our modest long term plan. The existing business is just too large, and it would be unlikley to be "mine" anytime in the mid-term future. I will keep doing my job, though, as the company is travelling well, and I am helping work on a further acquisition opportunity which will keep us busy for a little while yet.

On more important matters - I continue the battle to understand what driver shaft is right for me.... My ballstriking last time out was pretty darn good, but i don't know that I am getting the best ballflight and results from the big stick. I have tried LM's, but for me there is no substitute for on-course testing. I am thinking I should add some loft, and try something a little less stout than the E-360 - but nothing has caught my eye yet. Budget is limited, as I am also hinting for an Oz-version golf GPS - just for the heck of it....

Anyway, I hope you lads are enjoying more golf than I, and are hitting 'em straight.

Cheers

Oz

G'day Oz! Welcome back and I'm glad you seem to be getting your priorities straight.

I'm starting to play more often but not hitting them straight. Hcp is up to 14.9 and climbing  Well at least that will be an extra stroke or so when we hit Vegas in October.

Ho' - my numbers are up this year, too. It is coming into Spring Tournament season, though, so the couple of extra shots will surely come in handy.

I'm all about the "greenies" these days. I'm all over the place and can't seem to keep it together for 18 holes. One day I'll shoot an 80 and the next I'm knocking on 100's door. *sigh* Got down to 14.1 and am up to 14.9 now.
