woke up and ck'd my bank account - a cool unexpected 5K$ deposited from work ...

turns out a patent i filed in 2000 finally was granted and my employer recognizes with a cash reward... honestly completely forgot about it and probably couldn't remember any of the details if pressed....

regardless.. nothing my s.o. really need to know about

I got my first last year and it was filed in '02. I filed for two last year. Maybe they will pay out before the plant closes Congrats!

Congrats!Something to be proud of. My brother has two patents.They were entering the Aussie market (they build hitches and couplings for commercial trucks and some residential applications) and he designed a light commercial hitch from scratch that takes an eye and/or a ball. Apparently the Aussies dont all use the standard ball hitch like we use over here for towing. Some use an eye. It's been a big success for his company.

I checked.. 6 more on file. My last day in 9/24 and I have a sneaking suspicion they won't issue by then.... oh well, i guess it's for the good of mankind and the company and the compensation wasn't ment to be

check the contract wording -- seems like you should still get the $$$ even if not working there anymore. you did make a contribution. unlikely, but could be worth it in the long run....

it's a big company and they cy(their)a pretty well... when you are gone, you are gone - this is small potatoes compared to what i'll leave on the table in underwater options and options that will expire 90days after resignation
